A lot has changed since our last writing initiative to Hulu in March. Most importantly, a reorganization within Marvel that puts Kevin Feige in charge of Marvel TV, which has led to heavy speculation from the press, including questions of what comes next. In recent weeks, there have been unverified rumors that Feige has plans for Charlie Cox as Daredevil in the MCU.
While we’d love to see our devil appear in the family-friendly MCU, our preference is for Feige et al to #SaveDaredevil as we know it; a mature-rated series with many hours of deep, complex characters, complicated relationships, and critically-acclaimed, game-changing stunts. Our main goal hasn’t changed and we’re #NotGivingUp!
The previous head of Marvel Television, Jeph Loeb, said at the 2019 Saturn Awards, ‘This show needs a network’ and we still believe the best new home for Daredevil is at Disney-owned Hulu.
Marvel has an existing relationship with Hulu, including several mature rated series in development there.
Hulu will be offered as part of the new D+ packaging.
Hulu is still planning on rolling out internationally over the next few years, though in the interim, many Hulu shows are usually available in local markets through licensing partnerships.
How do Kevin Feige, Dana Walden, and Craig Erwich fit into saving Daredevil?
We’ve identified each of these executives as important individuals to contact because of their placement in the overall Disney corporate structure, and for their unique positions in content creation divisions or the pre-existing television development and production pipeline for Disney. As the Chief Creative Officer for Marvel, Kevin Feige will have unique oversight over how Marvel will utilize the Daredevil IP (intellectual property) in future live action. As the chairman of Disney Television Studios (which oversees production labels ABC Studios, 20th Century Fox Television, and Fox 21 Television) Dana Walden makes high level decisions on which shows go to which sister networks. And Craig Erwich, who oversees development of Hulu’s scripted original shows, would be an additional decision maker on whether to add a potential Daredevil revival to Hulu’s stable of existing original programs.
THIS EVENT IS OVER BUT THE TIPS BELOW CAN STILL BE UTILIZED FOR ANY PERSONAL MAILINGS FROM DAREDEVIL FANS
Beginning Monday, November 4, through Friday, November 22, we are calling on the fans to help us send a united and consistent message to Kevin Feige, Dana Walden, and Craig Erwich that we want them to #BeTheHero and #SaveDaredevil!
Kevin Feige may be the main contact we want to reach, but Ms. Walden and Mr. Erwich are also important! Your messages can take whatever format you’re most comfortable with - a brief note, a postcard (scroll to the bottom for downloadable postcard files!), a thoughtful essay - as long as it shows your enthusiasm and passion and clearly reiterates our desire to see the same cast and creative team on the show.
OPTION #1:
Add your letters to a special delivery by Team #SaveDaredevil
To make the maximum impact, we’re designing bold, hard-to-miss packaging that will be filled with #SaveDaredevil swag, copies of the ~350k petition signatures, photos from various worldwide fan meetups, and any letters addressed to any of the individuals below, on your behalf.
You can send us your messages at letters@savedaredevil.com and we’ll print to include in our delivery to all three execs! Note in the subject line that your message is for the writing initiative so we know it’s okay to print and include in the overall shipment. Our goal is to collect as many letters as we can by Friday, 11/22/2019 and mail out ASAP, so please try to plan your mailing timetable accordingly.
OPTION #2:
Send your own snail mail
If you prefer to opt out of our group delivery, you can send your own snail mail, or one of the downloadable postcards we’ve provided at the bottom of this page, directly to any and all of the following addresses:

WHEN WRITING YOUR LETTERS, PLEASE KEEP THESE IMPORTANT FACTORS IN MIND:
Stay positive and keep your tone upbeat, civil and enthusiastic.
Remind them that we want the same cast, crew, creative team & mature rating. It is important for them to know that the fans will not accept a reboot or recast; the characters as played by this cast and the story told in this show are universally loved and the fans want them to be continued.
Point out how well Daredevil has performed over the past 1 year, and still staying in high demand, even after cancellation.
When addressing Mr. Feige, praise any and all Marvel Studios movies that you’ve loved & enjoyed.
When addressing Ms. Walden & Mr. Erwich, praise any and all Hulu originals you may be fans of.
Point out that Hulu has established Marvel history with The Runaways, and the upcoming Helstrom, plus multiple mature-rated Marvel animated series, and Daredevil would be a natural fit on the streaming service.
Point out that Hulu has done very well with more mature, TV-MA rated originals such as The Handmaid’s Tale, Castle Rock, Future Man, Catch-22, PEN15, Harlots, etc.
