WHO ARE WE?
We are a small group of fans from all over the world who came together to start the original #SaveDaredevil campaign. As Team #SavedDaredevil, we are dedicated to creating community and content for fans of the Daredevil series and character, the #FandomWithoutFear.
If you’re interested in reading more about why we originally started this campaign, check out this interview some of our team did for ManWithoutFear.com or read our campaign story below.
The r/Daredevil sub also hosted us for an AMA back in November 2021, which you can read here:
our story
#SaveDaredevil was a campaign effort by a network of Daredevil fans from all over the world. Initially formed as RenewDaredevil.com (#RenewDaredevil) to help rally fan support for a fourth season of Marvel’s Daredevil on Netflix, its focus shifted in the aftermath of Daredevil’s cancellation in November 2018.
In less than a week we became the voice for a Daredevil fan campaign recognized by news articles, actors, and global websites. Tens of thousands of loyal Daredevil fans came to us for guidance. We wanted to show Marvel, Disney and everyone else that Daredevil has a passionate fanbase, willing to fight for the future of this show.
As the official #SaveDaredevil campaign, we’ve hosted online fan events and physical meet-ups, made convention appearances, and kept a steady online presence across several social media platforms. There have been letter-writing campaigns to key stakeholders, online trending events, more than $12,000 raised for charity through various fundraising initiatives, and even a virtual #SaveDaredevil con! In September 2020, we premiered our official Daredevil podcast, #TalkDaredevil, and we also comment regularly on new developments through both English and Spanish-language videos produced for our YouTube channel.
Thanks in large part to the support of the #FandomWithoutFear – the hundreds of thousands of people around the world who support the #SaveDaredevil cause, including members of the cast and crew – we saw real success come our way. In December 2021, Charlie Cox officially returned to the role of Matt Murdock in a brief appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home and Vincent D’Onofrio reprised his role as Wilson Fisk in the Disney+ television show Hawkeye.
While these steps were very encouraging and brought tremendous joy and excitement to the fans of the original Daredevil, we viewed them as just that: Steps in the right direction. Then in May 2022, the dream was finally realized when the Hollywood trades reported Marvel Studios was developing a “new but continued” Daredevil series for Disney+, starring Charlie Cox. In July 2022, we received the jaw-dropping, official confirmation, straight from Kevin Feige inside Hall H, that Daredevil was indeed returning as a series with eighteen confirmed episodes!
